That’s right, with over 8 million downloads within 24 hours, a new Guinness World Record was set with the title of “Most software downloaded in 24 hours.” If you downloaded Firefox 3 on the download day, you can brag for being part of a world record. Congratulations for the Mozilla team for the victory!

Thanks to the support of the always amazing Mozilla community, we now hold a Guinness World Record for the most software downloaded in 24 hours. From 18:16 UTC on June 17, 2008 to 18:16 UTC on June 18, 2008, 8,002,530 people downloaded Firefox 3 and are now enjoying a safer, smarter and better Web.

After releasing Firefox 3, nearly 30 million people have downloaded it, compared to the mere few million who promised to download it on the download day. I too, am a happy Firefox 3 user at the moment. You can also read about the ins and outs of the new and better Firefox at SitePoint.

Alrighty folks, it’s time to grab your copy of Firefox 3, now! Stats are showing that over 5 million people have already downloaded, why not join the fun?

Firefox 3 is looming in the distance with tens of thousands of fixes and new features, so it surely will be a nice upgrade from 2.x and lower versions. I haven’t written anything in a while. In fact, I haven’t done anything constructive in a while, except reading for exams.

I hope to get a design done for the summer holidays, I hope I begin writing more, but even more I hope I someday graduate from high school. I put school and other “real life” things before my blog. Eventhough I love designing and writing the occasional blogpost, I need to work off-blog for a while (which I’ve been doing for the past few weeks).
