rssHugger — find new reads and get read!

I discovered a cool little website called rssHugger today. After clicking the “random blog” link a few times, some great bloggers have already gained another new subscriber.

So how blog authors benefit? Simple: more visibility on a big site. You can categorize your blog in the directory (maximum of 5 different categories though), and by posting good content (although the site diplays only your headlines) and giving links to that rssHugger page of yours’ will get you more views. Watch me link to mine in a low profile fashion. And by getting more pageviews at rssHugger, you’ve got more chances being on the Top 100 page. It is cleaned each month, so every blog has a better chance appearing on it. A real traffic puller I might say.

RssHugger has grown a bit over the time. It began as a project where bloggers could get indexed for a fee of $10. Now the fee has been removed, and by paying $20 or writing a review of the site (guess which I’m doing), your blog can be indexed in no time.

As a web design amateur/fan/whatever you like, I’d say the design of rssHugger could use some work. I find it a bit irritating to read that mix of white and orange on black/dim grey… Oh well, opinions opinions.

Otherwise I gladly suggest you at least view the site. You never know what kind of gems you might find there after clicking the random blog link!
